Using Amoxicillin Properly

Make sure to always read the instructions on the drug packaging, before using amoxicillin.

The dose of amoxicillin is given based on the patient's age, condition, and response to the drug. Amoxicillin is often used every 8 or 12 hours.

Use amoxicillin according to the dose recommended by the doctor. If you forget to take this medicine, take it as soon as you remember if the break with the next schedule is not too close. But if it's close, ignore the missed dose and don't double the dose.

Keep taking amoxillin even though the condition has improved, until the time determined by the doctor. Not finishing antibiotics or stopping antibiotics too early will cause the bacteria to re-infect.

Tell your doctor immediately if the condition still does not improve or even gets worse after taking amoxicillin.
