Description :

Acyclovir 5% Cream is a generic drug containing the active substance Acyclovir which is used to treat viral infections such as the treatment of herpes simplex infections of the skin & mucous membranes, including initial & recurrent genital herpes. Prevention of recurrent herpes simplex infection in immunocompetent patients.

Prophylaxis of herpes simplex in immunocompromised patients. Treatment of shingles. This drug works by inhibiting the herpes simplex virus DNA polymerase and viral DNA replication, thereby preventing viral DNA synthesis without affecting normal cells (body cells).

General Indications :

• Treatment of herpes simplex infections of skin & mucous membranes, including initial & recurrent genital herpes.
• Prevention of recurrent herpes simplex infection in immunocompetent patients.
• Prophylaxis of herpes simplex in immunocompromised patients. Treatment of shingles.

Composition :

Acyclovir 5%

Acyclovir 5% Cream Dose Adult :

Treatment of herpes simplex 200 mg, 5 times daily at 4 hourly intervals for 5 days

How to use :

Smeared on the infected skin.
