Clobetasol Propionate 0.05% Ointment is a generic topical drug produced by Etercon which is used for short-term therapy in inflammatory conditions of the skin (dermatosis) and eczema that have been resistant to mild potent steroids.
The active substance is Clobetasol propionate, which is a corticosteroid class drug that has very strong potential to treat skin inflammation that is not caused by infection. Like other corticosteroids, Clobetasol works by forming a steroid-protein receptor complex by penetrating cell membranes.
The function of corticosteroids is to suppress neutrophil migration, reduce prostaglandin production, and cause capillary dilatation. So that the inflammatory conditions in the body begin to decrease.
