Description
Afucid 2% is a topical drug used to treat primary and secondary skin lesions caused by Streptococcus and Staphylococcus bacterial infections. Afucid 2% contains the antibiotic fusidic acid (fusidic acid) which functions in treating bacterial infections bacteriostatically (inhibits the growth of bacteria but is not destructive to susceptible bacteria). Fusidic acid works by interfering with bacterial protein synthesis on the ribosomes so that it can inhibit the enzyme chloramphenicol acetyltransferase to divide bacteria and interfere with their growth.

Dose
