Monstera Standleana Varigated
Monstera standleyana is native to Nicaragua, Honduras and Panama.
Monstera standleyanas is a climber. Unlike other monsteras, Standleyana tends to grow slowly even when you give them moss poles. However, I find its compact growth pattern quite charming. They also rarely produce fenestrations (holes or cleavage).
Monstera standleyana aurea has yellow hues. The yellow will be brighter and more pigmented as new leaves enter. It will then fade to a light yellow or cream color.
Care and Tips:
* Humidity: About 55-85%. Adapts to household humidity fairly easily thanks to its thick leaves.
* Temperature: Grows best in 70-80°F but can also handle the 55-85 range. Avoid cold winds, heat stress, or sudden changes in temperature.
* Light: Fairly bright light (about 400 to 700 foot candles.)
* Watering: Water your plants thoroughly when the top 1/3 of the soil feels dry.
* Best soil mix: Airy, well-drained organic soil, or potting mix.
* Fertilizer: fertilizer rich in nitrogen and micro-nutrients only in the growing season.
* Tip 1: If you see leaves curling back, the plant is thirsty. Make sure you don't let the leaves curl too much.
* Tip 2: Don't give the plant too much light. You will know you are giving too much light when the green starts to fade or turn white.
